Also ask yourself

  • Did I thank the reviewer?
  • Did I protect their privacy (no dates, services or amounts for sensitive businesses)?
  • Did I avoid promises I can’t back up?
  • Did I offer a reasonable next step?
  • Does it sound like a real owner wrote it?

Why it matters

Half of consumers are put off by generic or templated replies, and future customers read how you handle complaints.

A good reply uses their name, mentions one detail, thanks them, never argues, moves sensitive issues offline — and never offers anything to change or remove a review.
